Richard Todd Adams has spent most of the last year developing new musicals in New York City,
including Insomnia as Brad, Far From the Madding Crowd as Sgt Frank Troy, Two Cities
as Charles Darnay, THE DAY THE WORLD WENT QUEER as Grant, and PLANE CRAZY as Brett Mansford.
Richard grew up in Texas, attending Trinity University in San Antonio where he received his Bachelors of
Music in Vocal Performance. He then moved to New York City in 1996 to earn his Masters in Music from The
Juilliard School. For two years, Richard played Raoul in both the national touring company and the Los
Angeles company of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera. Returning to NYC in 2000, he then made
his Off-Broadway debut as The Tenor in the revival of Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill at the Triad
Theater. Shortly thereafter, Richard began his long association with the hit comedy 2 Pianos, 4 Hands,
playing Ted in theaters throughout Canada and the United States with his best friend and cohort Tom Frey as
Richard. They since have switched roles in performing the show at the Hippodrome Theater in Gainesville,
Florida. Other regional performances have included Ravenal in SHOWBOAT, the title role(s) in Jekyll
and Hyde, Dickinson in 1776, Father in Ragtime, the title role in Billy Bishop Goes
to War, and the title role in The Scarlet Pimpernel. In 2003, he stood by for Hugh Panaro and Ken
Marks in Michael John LaChiusa's Little Fish at Second Stage and then stood by for Michael Hunsaker,
Joe Cassidy, and David Friedman in David Friedman's Listen to My HEart at Studio 54. One of Richard's
favorite roles has been as the head coach of the Manhattan Special Olympic basketball and softball teams. He
dedicates each and every performance to the memory of Thomas Hayward, voice teacher, mentor, and friend.
